3 Simple Tips to Care For Your Airbrush Tan
Posted by admin on February 5, 2011
At Urban Sun, we want you to get the best results from your airbrush tans, so we’ve put together some tips that will help your tan look better and last longer.
3 Easy Ways to Keep Your Airbrush Tan Looking Great
1. Watch Your Water Exposure
When it comes to caring for your airbrush tans, one of the most important tips relates to water. You should plan on not showing for at least 10 hours. The main reason for this is once your tan is exposed to water, it stops the development of the DHA, or the compound that creates that tan appearance. Ideally, the first shower following your tan, use plain water and avoid soap or shower gel. Avoid swimming for the first 24 hours after your tan. Swimming and hot tubs can cause your tan to fade faster or streak.
2. Apply a Tinted Moisturizer for Longer-Lasting, Flawless Color
Use an oil-free, alcohol-free moisturizer designed to extend your tan. Opt for a slightly tinted moisturizer to add up to 3 days to the life of your tan. Your Urban Sun tanning consultant can recommend a top-quality moisturizer to give you the best airbrush tan results. Be sure to apply your moisturizer daily as this the key to keep it long-lasting and natural-looking.
3. Scrubs
We love scrubs and exfoliants BEFORE you tan to rid yourself of dry or dead skin. But we strongly recommend not using a scrub after you have had your airbrush tan applied. This will only remove your color.
